Stamatis Polenakis (b. 1970) is an acclaimed Greek poet, playwright, and novelist who has received Greece's highest award for poetry. Born in Athens, he studied Spanish literature in Madrid and has lived in Spain and Ireland. A. E. Stallings is the Oxford Professor of Poetry and an award-winning U.S.-born poet and translator who has lived in Athens since 1999. She has been a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry, and her translations include volumes of Hesiod and Lucretius for Penguin Classics.
