Nowhere is broken.
The Keeper, a monster made of shadow and jagged edges, rules there.
The lost are scattered over the cracked, gray ground. The Collectors no longer do their job. No one is called to help.
Someone should save it.
But Shelly can't possibly be that someone. Because she's waiting. Waiting for Dad to come home, waiting for answers, waiting for life to change and for the world to help her.
When the black fog from Nowhere creeps into her world, it steals her breakfast and parts of the sky, and leaves a shoe and a book.
But the lost aren't the only ones who need Nowhere.
The world does, too.
