Karen Márquez Morales was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, and still happily resides there with her husband of thirty-four years, Tom, and their son, Marcus.
Karen was a bilingual second-grade teacher in Avondale, Arizona, for thirty years before retiring and following her dream of becoming a children's author and poet. She graduated from Phoenix College and Arizona State University. She earned her associate's degree in journalism and her bachelor's and master's degrees, plus sixty additional hours in elementary and bilingual education with a minor in Spanish.
She is a member of the Academy of American Poets and the West Valley Writers. Karen is also a member of the Arizona State Poetry Society, and is the coordinator of the Primary Poets(R)️ for Society, and a Little Free Library(R) Steward.
She loved teaching her students different ways to solve problems in any situation that might arise in life. In turn, they have helped her as well through difficult times. Together, they became UNBREAKABLE.
