Otoha Higuchi is a young woman who found her first job in a bookstore in her home region of Tohoku, but the situation became problematic. When she decided to leave that job, she learned through social media about a "night library" on the outskirts of Tokyo that was looking for staff and she managed to get hired. Unlike ordinary libraries, the opening hours are from seven in the evening to twelve at night and the books it stocks come from collections of authors who have already passed away. It is, in a way, like a book museum. Otoha will live unexpected experiences in this "night library" while reflecting on what it means to "work."
