Los personajes de esta novela habitan un barrio marginal de la ciudad centroamericana de San Salvador, El Salvador. Se rigen por sus propios códigos y pareciera que viven al margen de todo, en otro universo. Tan cerca y tan lejos al mismo tiempo. Es un mundo sórdido en el que ni el autor ni los protagonistas se dejan atrapar.

The characters in this novel live in a slum in the Central-American city of San Salvador, El Salvador. They follow their own code and seem to live at the edge of everything, on another universe. So close and yet so far at the same time. It is a sordid world, where neither the author nor the protagonists let themselves be caught.

Jorge Galán (San Salvador, 1973) es narrador y poeta. Ha publicado: La ruta de las abejas (2020), La caída de Porthos Embilea (2021), El domador de tornados (2022), Ruido (2019), La habitación al fondo de la casa (2016), Noviembre (2015), Medianoche del mundo (2016), Los otros mundos (Alfaguara infantil, 2010), El premio inesperado (Alfaguara infantil, 2008), entre otros. Ha obtenido el Premio José Emilio Pacheco de la FIL Guadalajara por el poemario Equinoccio; el Premio de la Real Academia Española en 2016, por la novela Noviembre. Además, obtuvo el Premio Casa de América de Poesía Americana, Madrid 2016; el Premio Iberoamericano para obra publicada Jaime Sabines en México, 2012; el Premio Internacional Antonio Machado, Madrid, 2009; el Premio Adonais, Madrid, 2006; y el premio nacional de El Salvador tanto en poesía como en novela corta. Sus novelas han sido traducidas a diversos idiomas y publicadas por editoriales como Little Brown, Mondadori, Penguin o Psichogios, entre otras.
