The volume considers the theories of the passions in Hobbes, Descartes and Spinoza. Particular attention is given to the passion of fear, highlighting how these three writers considered fear as both an individual and a collective affect.
Francesco Cerrato is Associate Professor of History of Philosophy at the Department of Philosophy and Communication of the University of Bologna, where he also the Director of the Center for Philosopgical Research on Social, Political and Economic Violence (CRIVISPE).
