John Fryxell is a Professor in the Department of Integrative Biology at the University of Guelph in Canada. His research is focused on African wildlife and includes long-term studies on the demography and spatial ecology of large herbivores and their predators in Serengeti National Park.

Anthony Sinclair is Professor Emeritus at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada. He is the Director of the Centre for Biodiversity Research at the University of British Columbia and is a Professor in the Department of Zoology.
