Josu Okiñena studied in Madrid, London, and New York (The Juilliard School). He dedicates his professional work to performance and research. With a Ph.D. from the University of Valladolid, he performs regularly in some of the world's most important concert halls and records for Sony Classical. In addition, he is a pioneer in research on performance practice. Dr. Okiñena is currently a professor at Musikene. Musikene is the Higher School of Music of the Basque Country, established by the Basque Government in the 2001-2002 academic year.
