Back in Fallow Creek, Rachel and her husband Keith are overwhelmed by the amount of people that have continued to leave the community since she has stepped into the leadership role.

Lily is a reserved and conservative young woman who escaped life in polygamous community Fallow Creek. She is living with her friend Sofia and voices her concern over her lifestyle choices, but Sofia doesn't want to hear it and instead Lily decided to move out.

Shortly after moving out, Lily meets Taylor, a wealthy businessman, widower and former member of the Fallow Creek Community. He finds himself deep in thought as he prepares for his upcoming business trip to Tucson, Arizona. He thinks of his late wife and how he wishes he had spent more time with his family instead of being so wrapped up in making plans for marrying a second wife.
