Glints was conceived by photographer/writer/artist Kris Haggblom as a series of archival photographic chapbooks. Originally published by SpiNDec Press (now the design division of Poetic Justice Books) over a period of three years, 2016-2018, the chapbooks were individually printed to archival museum standards and hand bound. Each book was ten pages, actually eight pages with a fly-out, of heavy paper printed in stunning quadtones, hand stitched in a Caslon cover. Each book was numbered and signed. Only five of the six books in this collection were released and all in extremely limited editions - the highest print run was for Dragonflies - sixteen copies printed. The final title in the series - Solidago Wars - was being adapted from a unique artist book self-published by Haggblom in 2014, but was never completed. The version presented here is cobbled together from files and notes left by the artist. While the printing process used for this collection does an admirable job of presenting Haggblom's work, the original hand bound, archival chapbooks are individual works of art. As such, they have been snatched up by collectors and are now rarely available - copy number 6 of Mangroves recently sold at auction for $250, more than twelve times the original subscription price. Poetic Justice Books is proud to be able to bring these beautiful works to a wider audience.
